Aggravated Robbery, Felonious Assault, and Assault

|

Defendant was with a group of friends walking down the street when one of the guys in his group decided to attack and assault an innocent bystander. Shortly thereafter, the defendant was arrested for Aggravated Robbery (a felony of the first degree), Felonious Assault (a felony of the second degree), and Assault (a misdemeanor of the first degree).

After spending several months conducting a thorough investigation and interviewing all of the witnesses, attorney Zachuary Meranda was able to find serious holes in the State's case. The case proceeded to a nine hour trial where the client was found NOT GUILTY of Aggravated Robbery and the Assault charge. Unfortunately the defendant was found guilty of the Felonious Assault charge.

At the sentencing hearing, defense attorney Zachuary Meranda was able to get the defendant sentenced to a term of probation instead of incarceration time. So at the end of the day, the case did work out in the defendant's best interest.
