O.R.C. 2911.11 Aggravated burglary


This type of burglary occurs when someone enters by force, stealth, or deception into another person’s occupied structure (or other occupied separated structure) with the intent to commit any criminal offense where the offender either inflicts (or attempts) physical harm to another or the offender has a dangerous weapon or ordnance on his or her person. In short, an armed offender, who wants to steal a TV, breaks into someone’s house when the owner is sleeping. This is aggravated burglary.

This crime is punishable by a felony of the first degree.
